Cellulite Treatment Options

Cellulite is fat that is caught between bands of connective tissue directly beneath the skin that creates a lumpy, bumpy orange peel appearance mostly on the hips, thighs and backsides of most women.  While not life threatening, it is ugly, unsightly and embarrassing if you’re the one that has it.

Because cellulite is primarily caused by fat, reducing the body’s fat content by creating a caloric deficit either by eating less or exercising is the first step for reducing cellulite. However, diet and exercise do not always give women (and some men) the results that they’re looking for. This is where treatment options come in.

Cellulite is located right beneath the skin which is why many treatment options involve -treating the fat, -relaxing the bands of connective tissue and -proper skincare. Treating the fat involves both aerobic and anaerobic (muscle conditioning) exercises and proper diet with some caloric restrictions as mentioned above.

There are two treatments that are purported to minimize cellulite by relaxing the bands of connective tissue that “hold” the fat. One is called Endermologie and the other is called VelaSmooth. Endermologie is usually performed in a plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist’s office. It uses a motorized device that that has 2 adjustable rollers with suction that creates smooth and regulated deep tissue mobilization. In order for it to be effective, the client must have several consecutive treatments and then follow up treatments for maintenance. The results are often visible somewhat quickly but are temporary if maintenance isn’t done.

VelaSmooth is the newest technology in the realm of cellulite treatments. It uses both infrared red light and radio frequency waves to relax the bands of connective tissue that trap fat and make it appear bumpy. It’s non-invasive and must be done twice a week for 5 weeks and then monthly. The initial results of VelaSmooth are very promising.

Proper skincare in the cellulite prone areas can reduce it’s appearance. There are a number of cellulite creams, gels and lotions that work temporarily to varying degrees. It’s important to use these topical treatments as directed. It’s also important to make sure that the cream or gel is massaged in well in order to stimulate circulation. Some of these products work better than others so it’s a matter of trial and error as well as persistence for topical treatments to work effectively.

Get Rid of Cellulite

It’s a fact that about 90% of the entire female population has cellulite on some part of her body.  You may have never thought it could happen to you and you wake up one day to it staring you in the face.  You are not alone, many celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Pamela Andersen, and Hillary Duff have admitted to not having perfect bodies.  This article will reveal some natural ways to reduce or prevent that cottage cheese like skin texture.

Dieting alone is not the answer, but a well balanced diet and regular exercise will help reduce the “orange peel” appearance.  Be sure to consume plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and avoid fried foods and refined carbohydrates like white bread and rice.   Drink plenty of water and herbal teas to rid your body of toxins, limit your caffeine, alcohol, and salt intake, and get at least 30 minutes of exercise per day.  It would be beneficial to focus on the lower half of the body by doing strength exercises like leg raises, squats, and lunges.  Quit smoking cigarettes and stay away from second hand smoke which harm small blood vessels.  Also, try yoga, meditation, or tai chi to reduce your stress levels.  Treat yourself to an intense massage, finish your shower with a cold rinse to tone the skin, and apply skin firming cream.

By following these tips for at least 6 months you will be well on your way to achieving your goal.  There are no easy solutions in making cellulite disappear.   It takes focus and true dedication to see satisfying results.  It is also important to not increase your exercise routine by more than 10% each week to prevent injury.  Set realistic steps on paper as a reminder, be enthusiastic, don’t compare yourself to others and most important of all just try to have fun!

Treating Cellulite: Treatments That Work

Cellulite is stubborn fat caught between bands of connective tissue causing a bumpy lumpy appearance on the hips, buttocks and thighs of most women and even some men.
Ninety percent of women have it. While hormones and age do play a role in the developing cellulite, they are not completely limiting factors. Cellulite can be reduced at any age.
Treatments
1. The first and most important thing you can do for cellulite reduction is exercise. Exercise may be broken down into Cardiovascular Exercise and Muscular Strength and Conditioning Exercise.
- Cardiovascular Exercise will help you to burn calories and lose some of the fat that is caught between the bands of connective tissue. In order for cardiovascular exercise to be effective, you must manage to fit in at least 30 minutes 3 times per week. This 30 minute interval may be broken down into three 10 minute segments, two 15 minute segments or one 30 minute segment. Keep in mind that your metabolism stays elevated for a few hours after you do your cardiovascular exercise, so you continue to burn more calories even after you are finished. Cardiovascular exercise also helps to increase circulation which is crucial to reducing the appearance of cellulite.
- Muscular strength and conditioning exercises will increase muscle tone in the cellulite prone areas and result in a smoother more attractive appearance. Picture a freshly filled balloon. It is full of air and therefore very smooth. Now consider the skin covering your cellulite prone areas like the balloon. If you have lots of nice muscle tissue underneath, it will press up on the fat that is underneath and make it appear smoother. If you’re a women, do not fear becoming too muscular from strength training.
2. The next treatment for cellulite reduction is diet. It’s crucial to reduce or eliminate white sugar and white flour. This does not meant to cut out carbohydrates. It simply means to look for whole grain products instead of ones that are made from white sugar. Try to include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet everyday. Whole fruits and vegetables contain fiber which is very important in regulating your digestive system. Try to drink lots of water as opposed to drinking fruit juices and soft drinks.
3. There are many types of treatments that help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Some of these treatments are done in medical spas or are performed by dermatologists. The availability of these treatments varies by location. A list of cellulite treatments includes Endermologie, massage, body wraps and Velasmooth. Velasmooth is the first cellulite treatment to be approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration in the United States). There are home devices that claim to reduce cellulite that vary in cost and effectiveness. Many cosmetic companies offer topical treatments that may also reduce the appearance of cellulite. Be sure to check the ingredients for substances that may result in an allergic reaction due to user sensitivity.

Proven Cellulite Reduction: 5 Crucial Facts You Must Know to Get Rid of Cellulite

In discussing the horrible issue of cellulite on a woman’s problem spots, such as the legs, butt, hips and thighs – there’s an endless source of lies and myths that prevent so many ladies of all ages and races from experiencing true cellulite elimination, or complete reduction. Here are five key facts you need to know before you can be successful in your quest to get rid of the cellulite dimples and lumps from your lower body problem areas and trouble spots.
ONE – You’ll never get rid of cellulite by rubbing any kind of reduction lotion or skin cream on your trouble spots.
Despite the sad fact that there are dozens of supposed anti-cellulite creams on the market – there is no possible way for any of them, no matter how costly or fancy, to get rid of your cellulite problem.
Cellulite is not a skin problem or a superficial condition. It’s an underlying structural issue, that can only be fixed by toning and firming the muscle structure directly below your cellulite trouble spots.
TWO – Outrageously Expensive beauty-spa treatments can only reduce your bank account balance – not your cellulite problem.
Painfully humiliating and uncomfortable salon services ranging from endermologie to body-wrapping have been proven ineffective when it comes to anti cellulite methods. However, sneaky advertising combined with marketing loopholes allow these ineffective services to be boldly marketed to desperate ladies who are at wits end with their life altering cellulite condition.
THREE – Cellulite is not caused by genetics and you are in no way “stuck with it” if you have the dimples and bumps.
These two twisted concepts are often passed around by neighborhood know-it-alls – and many women actually believe these 2 myths – especially if they haven’t discovered the correct way to get rid of the orange peel, cottage cheese textured appearance. What’s even more sickening are the surprising number of physicians who believe in and fuel these two misleading ideas.
FOUR – You can permanently get rid of cellulite in your lower body, regardless of your age, or when you started to show signs of.
Since cellulite is a physical, structural condition – it can surely be corrected with specific anti-cellulite exercises that aim directly at the cellulite affected areas.
These laser-targeted moves can be followed by any woman, regardless of her age or fitness ability. And it doesn’t matter if the cellulite texture started in the teen years, or after giving birth, or after menopause – it’s still a physical issue that results from weak, un-toned muscles behind the bumpy, dimpled skin areas.
FIVE – The only true and proven method to permanently get rid of cellulite is through a series of laser- targeted, anti-cellulite exercises.
But you’ll be hard pressed to find these in the local Y or your neighborhood health club. These cellulite reduction exercises are not done with dangerous weights and uncomfortable machine exercises.
In spite of what most ladies have been falsely led to believe, there is a glaring difference between a ‘general fitness regimen’ – and a specifically targeted, anti cellulite exercise program. The most powerfult benefit of this is that you don’t need a gym or fitness club to find success. Rather, these are simple exercises you can start doing today, right in the privacy of your own house or apartment. And if you do begin doing these cellulite busting exercises today – you will start seeing positive results within three to four weeks – with further improvements beyond that

Choosing the Best Cellulite Treatment – Get Back your Rear Appeal

July 22, 2009 by Rob · Leave a Comment

If you are tired of the ugly lumps and bumps that are a sign of cellulite, then you are probably very interested in finding the best cellulite treatment to help you reduce the appearance of cellulite. But, there are so many different approaches to cellulite treatment and so many different anti cellulite products on the market that it can be confusing and time consuming to decide what the best cellulite solution is for you. And testing a lot of different products can be expensive, especially if you don’t get the kind of results that have been promised in the advertising.

How can you find the best cellulite treatment for you and your body? One thing that can help to narrow down the ultimate products you will choose from is to seek out a cellulite treatment that have shown to be effective for a number of people. Often women’s magazines will do surveys and will publish a listing of products that were voted best cellulite treatment. This kind of vote, or survey, is often done annually as there are always new products coming out on the market such as anti cellulite creams and anti cellulite body wraps. Often the best cellulite product is named for the different categories of treatments that are available.

However, even if you find a current listing of products that people voted best cellulite treatment, it should be remembered that everyone is different. If a product was named best cellulite gel or best cellulite lotion you probably have a better chance of it working for you, but it is only by trial and error that you will find the right cellulite solution that works with your body chemistry and overall condition of your body and skin.

Another good indicator of whether a product could be considered the best cellulite treatment or not is to check into the reputation of the manufacturer. A good place to do research is on the internet and look for forums and review sites where consumers have an open arena to share their experiences and opinions of products. Also, it is easy now to check with the Better Business Bureau because of online access and you can see if there have been unresolved complaints against a manufacturer. While it is not always a sure thing, a company that has a good reputation and that stands behind their products is more likely to offer quality anti cellulite creams and other cellulite solutions.

Another aspect of choosing the best cellulite treatment for your condition is to determine if it is affordable for you. Cellulite does not develop overnight, and getting rid of cellulite won’t happen with one tube of even the very best anti cellulite cream. In order to properly treat and reduce cellulite, you should be prepared to commit to using the treatment you select for at least three months before you can even begin to judge if it is having an effect or not. If you cannot see yourself purchasing enough of the cellulite treatment product to give it a fair chance of working, you will simply be wasting your money by only purchasing one tube of anti cellulite cream or one kit for a anti cellulite body wrap.

In the same way that the best cellulite treatment will be affordable over the long term, you also need to choose a cellulite treatment that will be convenient. If the treatment is too time consuming, messy, or if you have to drive across town for a treatment at a spa, the likelihood is high that you won’t follow through with enough treatment to make a difference. This is one reason why anti cellulite creams and lotions continue to be popular even when other approaches such as the best cellulite exercises and anti cellulite diets are more effective at treating the cause of the problem. However, changing a diet and exercising regularly are often more difficult and less convenient than simply applying anti cellulite creams.
